There is always that first time you visit a destination even if you’ve been so many times you can’t remember it. I have a few destinations like that that predate my career as a travel writer and photographer. But I will never forget my first visit to Paducah, Kentucky<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I spent three days exploring the gorgeous city by the Ohio River, and after escaping across the river to Metropolis for a couple days I came back for one more go at Paducah. It’s the kind of place that is effortlessly comfortable and ultimately amazing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are my 25 favorite travel photos<\/a> that show the exciting side of Paducah, Kentucky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Whitehaven Welcome Center is the only interstate welcome center in the country located inside an historic home.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Visitors can take guided tours of the Whitehaven Mansion.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Paducah is that perfect mix of small town atmosphere with bigger city offerings.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The sidewalks in downtown Paducah are wide, clean, and comfortable.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A lot of events happen right here at Maiden Alley.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n
\"\"
John’s Pass Carriage Service will give you an awesome viewpoint during a guided tour through the city.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n
\"\"
The open air carriage is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the beauty of Paducah.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A lot of the buildings downtown featured some gorgeous architecture.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I found a whole new appreciate for fabric art after touring the National Quilt Museum.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Market House Museum is a wonderful collection of artifacts from throughout Paducah’s history.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Paducah Beer Werks set up shop in an old bus station and they decided to keep some of the decor!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Paducah Beer Werks has a pretty good selection of craft beers to enjoy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dry Ground Brewing Company is another great place to enjoy some craft beer…<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

and visitors can place an order from Mellow Mushroom next door and they will deliver it!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Moonshine Company was a great place to sample some local moonshine and they have a pretty interesting museum to explore.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

“On the Trail to Discovery” was an intriguing statue to admire.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
